Advent Wreath with Two Lit Candles

An advent wreath on which two of four candles are already lit.

Medium Single motifLarge areas

How many candles are already burning? On this fir wreath, exactly two are lit: the first and second candles from the left already carry a small, pointed flame, while the two candles on the right remain unlit.

The round wreath is densely built from individual fir branches with jagged needles. In the center, a large bow with frayed ends holds everything together, and small clusters of berries sit among the greenery on either side. The four candles stand upright side by side on the wreath, evenly spaced and clearly separated from one another.

Coloring ideas for the wreath

  • Color the two lit candles in warm yellow and orange tones
  • Leave the two unlit candles in a calm cream or red
  • Give the fir branches varied shades of green

With two candles lit, this picture shows the second Sunday of Advent, the second week of the Christmas countdown. The clearly separated areas of candles, bow, and fir branches suit children from about age 5 who already have some experience coloring larger motifs. This coloring page works well at home or in kindergarten alongside the real lighting of advent candles, week by week with one more flame added.
