Upright Standing Kangaroo
A kangaroo stands upright and props itself on its long tail.
This coloring page shows a kangaroo standing upright. It stands on its strong hind legs and also props itself up on the long, thick tail, which curves to the side. It holds its two small front paws loosely in front of its chest. The head is round, with big friendly eyes, a small snout and two long, upright ears. The mouth is open in a smile.
What can you see?
The body is made of a few large areas: the round belly, the strong legs and the long ears. Only a few inner lines divide the areas. There is no background, so the kangaroo stands freely on the white sheet, letting you focus fully on the animal.
Ideas for coloring
- A warm brown or reddish brown for the fur
- The belly, paws and inner ears a little lighter
- The eyes bold so the gaze looks clear
- A dry grassland with sun as a free idea in the background
Imagine the kangaroo hopping off. How far might it get in one single big leap?
Who is it right for?
Thanks to the large areas and clear lines, the picture already suits children from around three to four years old. It works easily with thick colored pencils or wax crayons. Kangaroos live in Australia and hop long distances on their strong hind legs. The thick tail helps them keep their balance. Many kangaroos carry their baby around in a pouch on the belly. Color the kangaroo however you like, and think about where it will jump to next.
